Management Team and Capabilities
Magma's management team and their
individual capabilities are introduced below:
Merv Johnston
|
Mervyn
(Merv) Douglas Johnston is the Managing Director of Magma Pty Ltd. He is also
the Managing Director of CVC REEF Limited, the Renewable Energy Equity Fund. He
is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sydney, and he
is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Australia. Merv
has more than thirty years of experience in the private sector, and has
served in senior executive level positions for much of his career. He has
also held various senior roles in the public sector. From
1990 through 1998 Merv applied this background to his roles in the ERDC as
Investment Manager, Business Development Manager and Acting Managing
Director. He has extensive experience negotiating ERDC's beneficial interest
in the outcomes of research and development and its commercialisation. |
Alan Jackson
|
Alan Frederick Jackson, is the Finance Director of Magma Pty Ltd. He has an economics degree from the University of Birmingham, and he
is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the
Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England
and Wales, and is a Senior Fellow of the Corporate Directors Association of
Australia. Alan is also a Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Alan's
expertise in strategic and financial planning and risk management was
developed through eleven years of working for Deloitte Haskins and Sells and
Coopers & Lybrand in both the United Kingdom and Australia, and six years
with the Energy Research and Development Corporation as Finance Manager. |
Griff Rose

Griffith (Griff) Frank Rose, is the Technical
Director of Magma Pty Ltd. Griff is an electrical engineering graduate from the University of
Queensland and is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Griff has more than twenty years of experience in project management
and strategic planning. He was manager of ERDC's Electricity Program, which
included investments in many renewable technologies. Between
1993 and 1997, Griff has represented the ERDC on many energy industry working
parties and on the Boards of several energy industry investee companies. He
has also presented key papers to several energy industry conferences,
particularly in the area of renewable energy development. Griff was
instrumental in the development of the Renewable Energy Grants programs for
the AGO. |
